Copy-cat, Copy-cat!

Bekki just did a list of thirty things people might not know about her….or want to.  As I explained in my comment to her, I’ve never done a list like this because I’m such a forthright person that my friends know most everything about me, and the strangers probably don’t care to read the list.  Secondly, if I did put something on that list that my friends didn’t know about me, it might be shocking enough that they’d need a little CPR to recover!  Nonetheless, just for fun, I’m going to do my own list of, “Thirty Things You Didn’t Know About Me…And Could Live Just Fine if You Never Knew Them!”

  • I seldom cook, although I can.  My husband has done 99.5% of the cooking in the household during the past six years.
  • I met the man who would become my husband when I was fifteen.
  • I’ve tried unsuccessfully to wear contact lenses on two separate trials.  My eyes are just too dry.
  • I wear a size 5.5 Wide shoe.
  • I’ve never smoked a cigarette.
  • I got caught saying my first swear word (I called the neighbor kid an S.O.B. because he threw an apple at my head) when I was nine.
  • I own six pairs of silk bikini panties and 2 silk thongs.
  • I’ve never been pregnant — to my knowledge.  (A couple of those late periods long ago could have been miscarriages.  Who knows?)
  • I accepted a dime-store ring from a boy in third grade.  We ”went steady” most of that school year.
  • I can name all 11 of the late Senator Robert Kennedy’s children and their birthdates.
  • I looked like a boy until I was over two-years-old because I had virtually no hair.
  • I had a hysterectomy when I was 32.
  • I attended Catholic school for eight years, grades 5 through 12.
  • The first car I ever drove was a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle.  Standard transmission.  (I’ve never owned a car with automatic transmission.)
  • I saw every appearance of the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show on the original air date.
  • At my tallest height, I was 4-feet and 11-and-three-quarters-inches.  (I’ve recently lost that three-quarters of an inch.)
  • I have a drawer-full of garter belts and nylons stockings.  I haven’t worn a pair of pantyhose in probably more than a dozen years.
  • I was vaccinated against smallpox several years ago.
  • I took tap dancing lessons for five years as a child.
  • I had my first orgasm when I was fourteen.
  • I never learned to swim well and don’t like to be in water over my head.
  • I have a working turntable (old technology that spins “records”) and still play my “33 1/3 LPs” and “45s.”
  • I completed a vo-tech program and became a certified medical assistant before I went to college.
  • I “flunked” coloring in first grade.
  • I competed in the city-wide spelling bee when I was in eighth grade.  (No, I didn’t win.)
  • My first airplane ride was when I was 12-years-old, and I went by myself — from Cleveland, Ohio to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • I was served my first alcoholic drink in a restaurant when I was 15, and I was with my mother.  (It was a 7-and-7!  No foo-foo drink for this 15-year-old!)
  • My favorite cereal as a child was Lucky Charms.  (Still is!)
  • I once had a subscription to Penthouse magazine in my own name.
  • I’ve read many of Stephen King’s novels multiple times.

  1. Very good stuff. I may have to become a copy-cat myself. I’ll bore the snot out of overyone, but what the heck.

  2. Yeah, what the heck. That’s what I said! Go for it, Bry!
