And what happens after “transition day” — the day that my husband comes home from one of his two-week business trips across the sea?
Well, it’s like this:
-
Suddenly, the kitchen sink is full of dirty dishes — more dishes than I used in two weeks — because we had a big Sunday dinner at home
-
The master bedroom walk-in closet filled up with dirty laundry. It doubled in just a matter of moments from what had been here before!
-
The blankets and quilt are bunched up and pulled to the floor on his side of the bed.
-
I had to call and ask him if the cat had been given his pill this morning. (I took the day off.) When I’m here alone, if I don’t do it, it doesn’t get done so no questions need to be asked.
-
There is an empty wine bottle in the recycling basket. That doesn’t happen when he’s gone.
-
The pantry is full and the refrigerator is stocked. HE went to the grocery store yesterday!
-
There was someone to cuddle up with on the couch and talk to last evening.
-
There will be another homecooked meal this evening. HE’S the chef around here!
-
The birds and squirrels and deer got fed first thing this morning because he went outside to do it before he left for work.
-
There will be a reason to look forward to 5:00 PM when HE comes home from work.

Sounds like you have something to look forward to
Hope you are feeling better and brighter.
