I’m exhausted this morning. The temperature yesterday here in St. Paul reached 92 degrees with a dewpoint of 70. Downright tropical weather and particularly hard on us Minnesotans who aren’t aclimated to it. We attempted to turn on our central air conditioning for the first time this season, only to discover that the fan was running but no cold air was coming out of the vents in the house. My husband’s assessment is that the compressor motor is shot (probably due to disuse.) We both took cool showers before bed and slept underneath the ceiling fan on high, but I was still miserable last night and slept in what I felt was a series of small naps. I can just imagine how my poor very longhaired tomcat felt yesterday!
We found some relief from the heat yesterday by going out for an early supper and then going to see Pixar’s newest movie, “WALL-E,” an absolutely delightful film. We both loved it.
So, it’s officially after the 4th of July now, the time of the summer when my workload really goes crazy due to outbreaks of intestinal illnesses in the community. The problem is that it’s been crazy most of June. I haven’t exactly been sitting around, wondering what to do next! How can it get any worse? Well, we shall find out, I’m afraid.
Later, ‘gators.
