Tonight’s Agenda

I will join millions of my fellow Americans this evening in front of Ye Olde Tube (something I only turn on to watch the news) to view the Vice Presidential debate.  Both my husband and I are very interested in seeing how this debate plays out between the young, inexperienced governor of Alaska and the experienced senator from Delaware.

It won’t sway my decision in November one bit.  My decision is firm and has been for months now.  I knew last spring that I was either voting for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in November.  Now I know that it will be Barack Obama.  I’m just suffering through these last weeks of the campaign so that I can finally cast my vote and be done with this.

I’m fervently hoping that Senator Obama earns enough votes in November to carry this election.  I’ve been disappointed too many times in recent election years.  I voted for Al Gore in 2000 and was disappointed when he lost the election by a handful of votes, thus allowing that jackass from Texas to assume the office of President of the United States.  I voted for John Kerry in 2004 and was very disgusted, almost to the point of being horrified, that that same jackass earned just enough votes to be re-elected.  I’m going to try yet again to get the candidate of my choice into office.  The only even mildly positive thing I can say about the thought of the Democratic Party losing this election again is that at least John McCain isn’t George Bush.  He’s supported George Bush on a number of things and upholds the Republican ideologies, but at least he isn’t George Bush.  George Bush is out of office come January 20, there is no question about that.

It’ll be interesting tonight, I’m sure.  I hope that the Obama/Biden ticket picks up a few more votes because of it.

  1. I will be watching also. I still am not sure who I am voting for. I have been a democrate all my life. But like you I just want it to be over. Love you.

  2. What’s important is that you do exercise your right and responsibility as a U.S. citizen to vote.

  3. It was the most… amusing VP debate I’ve ever witnessed. I shared a few thoughts about it on my blog. Of course.

I’d better work now, or I’ll end up like that bunch on Wall Street. ::snort::
