I saw a news story the other evening about how the pet shelters are overwhelmed with cats and dogs who have been surrendered by their owners due to the financial hardship of taking care of a pet. Many people have surrendered pets because they have lost their homes.
I wanted so much to rush out and adopt a couple more kitties to love. The two cats that I have are the delight and treasure of my life. However, they both are very territorial and I’m very, very sure that there would be hell to pay if another cat or two became members of the household. My husband and I aren’t up to that, and I’m certain that Katie and Bubba, the 14-year-old cat siblings in residence, aren’t up to it, either.
Still, this photo embodies the essence of “kitten” and why I love them so much!

Kittens may be the perfect creatures of all. We got a new kitten several months back. He is such a devil, but he’s so darn cute that it’s impossible to be mad at him.
